Team Announcements ScheduleMarsteller Football Schedule 2011
TryoutsWelcome to Marsteller Football, we are looking forward to a great year. This year the team will be coached by Coach Houser and Coach Lang.
As a student-athlete, you need to manage your time between school and athletics. Athletics are not an excuse to not do work.
Try-outs and practice are from 2:45-4:45 players should be picked-up before 5p.m. or ride the activity bus or carpool.
Players must be on time to practice with proper attire (running shoes and/or cleats-bring both incase the field is closed and we practice indoors, shorts and a t-shirt- DO NOT wear your PE UNIFORM. If you do not own cleats do not buy them until your student has made the final team.
Players are not allowed to re-enter the building so they should bring all of their materials, books, instruments, and lunch bags, etc. to the field.
Players should also bring a bottle of water or a sports drink to practice each day.
We are only going to be able to keep about 30-35 players. It is difficult to maintain proper vigilance for safety and adequate instruction if we have more than this. Again thank you and if you have any questions you can e-mail, Coach Houser or Coach Lang at Marsteller.
PLEASE READ!!!!!Concussion Education Sessions
All student athletes and their parents or guardians will be required to attend a concussion education session provided by their respective middle and high schools. Attendance at one of these sessions is required before a student will be allowed to try out for any sport. Participation in the concussion education session is mandated by state law (Virginia Code 22.1-271.5). A concussion is a brain injury that is characterized by an onset of impairment of cognitive and/or physical functioning, and is caused by a blow to the head, face, or neck, or to the body that causes a sudden jarring of the head (e.g., a helmet to the head, being knocked to the ground). A concussion can occur with or without loss of consciousness. Sessions will be held on Sept. 7, Nov. 2, Jan. 10, and March 13. We will begin promptly at 6:30 and please bring a pen. What are they doing now? Here is a list of former Marsteller Middle School football players who are playing in college or the pros now.
